Nick Mitchell
CTO
Nick joined DCDC as CTO in September 2021. With a career spanning over two decades, he has extensive experience in the media and entertainment technology industry, focusing on the development and integration of innovative solutions.
Since 2019, Nick has served as the CTO and Technology Consultant at WildAcre Company, where he has collaborated with esteemed clients such as Interdigital, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and the University of Southern California.
Prior to that, he was Vice President of Immersive Technology at the Technicolor Experience Center from 2016 to 2019. In this role, he designed and constructed Technicolor's first next-generation virtual production and performance capture facility and co-developed a VR Color Management Pipeline.
From 2015 to 2016, Nick was the Vice President of Content Services Innovation at Deluxe Technicolor Digital Cinema. Before that, he served as Vice President of Mastering Services at Technicolor Digital Cinema from 2005 to 2015. During these tenures, he created many of the industry's first DCPs (Digital Cinema Packages) and played a critical role in establishing the workflows, technologies, and standards still in use today. And he is the inventor of related patents.
At the onset of his career, Nick was an Engineer at Avica Technology Corp from 1999 to 2005, where he concentrated on manufacturing engineering, deployment, and field support for some of the first digital cinema systems.

He is an active member of several professional organizations including the ACM, HPA, IEEE, SMPTE, ISDCF, and IMFUG. Nick currently serves on the SMPTE Hollywood Section Board of Managers.
